Winter Nights

2010 - 2011

For a long time I've wanted to pack my stuff and travel to this place they call ”the South”. It's not any country in particular; it's a place somewhere in imagination. But before I can leave I feel responsible to study my own country, my city and my neighbourhood.

I had to look for real events and random strangers. During night time the city became more vulnerable and it turned out that the cold winter had taken off the mask and showed me what's behind the northern lights, virginal nature and so called high quality of life. Even though it was dark and snow was covering the ground, it wasn't hiding anything. The most powerful emotions all the way from love to loneliness were present.

The series dives deep into the North with an authentic perspective, a dash of drama and a pinch of dark humor.
